Running in the Polish Tatras

Spent a great week with the guys from Lomond Hillrunners in the lovely Polish Tatras. Great weather, fab mountains and a generally good fun.

Ken Laidlaw Cycle Race

Had a great cycle with Paula, and came in about 7 hours, a few minutes quicker than before. And this time the route was cycled in reverse!

Cycling in Majorca

Paula and I enjoyed a hot and sunny week's cycling in Majorca, based in Puerta Pollensa. Highlight was the cycle down and then back up the 700 metre climb to/from Sa Calobra.

Clyde Stride 40 Mile Trail Race

Thought I'd give my local ultramarathon my support again this year, despite being nowhere near as prepared as I was last year. Never mind, treating it as a sort of "journey run/day out" up the Clyde I toed the line at Partick Railway Station. 6hrs 37mins later I dragged my weary but happy body across the finish line in New Lanark, 20 mins down on last year, but still chuffed. I had a good steady first 20 miles, a bit of a wobble between 20 and 30 miles, but rallied a bit on the lovely trails from Mauldslie Woods onwards. Tarmac, trails, woods, rivers this race has it all and superbly organised by Lee Maclean and her team. The winner was about 4hrs 45mins, amazing!
