East Coast Cross Training

Sat saw my 21st carnethy race, earning me the coveted Quaich. A great day out with 18 of us Westies hauling ourselves round this intense lung buster.A Steady performance saw me just miss out on the top third of the field, but still happy with my effort.
183rd of 485 finishers in 70 mins 38 secs. Here's to the 31st!!!

I recovered enough to get back over to the east coast for the Musselburgh 67 mile Audax. A great route through rural scenery out to Dunbar via Gifford and the climb up Redstone Rig to Dunbar for a tea stop at 40 miles. Back via Haddington and along the coast at Cockenzie and Prestonpans. 4 and a half hours or so and pretty knackered.

Up with my hillwalking club Glasgow Glenmore Club to Craigower Lodge for our traditional Burns Supper weekend. Climbed A'Chailleach (930m) on Saturday in lovely, though cold conditions; and a "Marilyn", the monument on Creag Ruadh(488m), at Laggan on Sunday.
